Free Blood Pressure Clinics Being Offered on Campus

Following the success of the fall semester free blood pressure clinics, the Public Health Promotion Center (PHPC) at UMass Amherst, in collaboration with students from the School of Public Health and Health Sciences, is hosting a series of nine further free blood pressure clinics during the spring semester.

The blood pressure clinics, which will be held from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at various locations across campus, are free. No insurance is required, no appointments are necessary, and results are confidential and not shared with anyone.

The schedule for the spring semester clinics consists of:

  • Feb. 8: Blue Wall
  • Feb. 15: Worcester Dining Commons
  • March 7: Whitmore
  • March 14: Hampshire Dining Commons
  • March 28: Berkshire Dining Commons
  • Apr. 4: Physical Plant
  • Apr. 18: Dickinson Hall
  • Apr. 25: W.E.B Du Bois Library
  • May 2: University Health Services

Regular blood pressure screening is important to overall health, as most individuals do not have symptoms of high blood pressure. Monitoring blood pressure can alert you to a risk for a heart attack or a stroke.

This series is part of the Okanagan Wellbeing Collective as a Health Promoting University and UMass Amherst’s commitment to creating, cultivating, and sustaining healthy people, places and planet.
