Fountain Named to List of Influential People in Digital Government

Jane Fountain, Distinguished Professor in the School of Public Policy and the department of political science and director of the National Center for Digital Government, has been named one of the “100 Most Influential People in Digital Government” for the second year in the row.

The list, compiled by Apolitical, a peer-to-peer learning platform for governments, recognizes people making the biggest impact in digital government around the world. Honorees include academics, politicians, civil servants, and activists who are “working to raise the profile of digital transformation and…whose efforts are driving government into the future,” according to Apolitical.

“We’ve seen growing momentum around digital to solve policy issues and design better services for citizens around the world,” said Lisa Witter, Apolitical’s executive chair. “As this burgeoning field continues to grow, so too does the breadth of people and perspectives driving change. This list celebrates the people behind this tremendous progress.”

“It’s an honor to be included on this distinguished list of influential people in digital government,” Fountain said. “Scholars face critical tasks is updating research and teaching in public policy and management, in governance, and in many other fields to keep pace with the digitalization of information and communications.”
