Flags Lowered to Honor Two Naval Officers, Martin Luther King Jr.

Gov. Charlie Baker has ordered the United States and Commonwealth flags lowered to half-staff at all state buildings on Wednesday, April 4, the day of interment, in honor of Capt. Thomas J. Hudner Jr., USN (Ret), recipient of the Congressional Medal of Honor - Korean War, a native of Fall River and former resident of Concord, who died Nov. 13 and will be laid to rest in Arlington National Ceremony; and Ensign Evan Mark Scollard of Lynnfield, who died March 24 in San Diego, California.

These are observed concurrently with Gov. Baker’s order to lower the flags to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
