Flags Lowered in Honor of Prisoner of War

Gov. Charlie Baker has ordered that the United States of America flag and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts flag be lowered to half-staff from sunrise until sunset at all state buildings on Saturday, June 22, the day of interment, in honor of Sgt. George R. Schipani, United States Army, who died on March 31, 1951 at Prisoner of War Camp 5, Pyoktong, North Korea. 

Sgt. Schipani will be laid to rest in Somerville Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
