Flags Lowered in Honor of New Bedford Soldier

Gov. Charlie Baker has ordered that the U. S. flag and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts flag be lowered to half-staff from sunrise until sunset at all state buildings on Saturday, March 21, the day of interment, in honor of US Army Private First Class Justin Candido Kirby of New Bedford, who passed away on March 9,at the Fort Irwin National Training Center, Fort Irwin, California.

Private First Class Kirby will be laid to rest at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in New Bedford.
