Flags Lowered to Honor Lawrence Soldier

Gov. Charlie Baker has ordered that the U.S. and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts flags be lowered to half-staff from sunrise until sunset at all state buildings on Thursday, Oct. 28, the day of interment, in honor of Sgt. Maj. of the Army Jose Ayala, of Lawrence, who died on July 8, 2021.

Sgt. Maj. Ayala will be laid to rest at the Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia on this date.
