Fireworks to be Held at McGuirk Stadium July 4

Fireworks and carnival games with not that event starts at 5 and fireworks at 9:30

The Town of Amherst is hosting a family friendly fireworks event featuring hot air balloon rides, a beer garden and carnival games and rides on the UMass campus on July 4. The event starts at 5 p.m. and the fireworks display at 9:30 p.m.

Due to construction on the field behind McGuirk Stadium, this year’s event will take place on the field to the south of the stadium off University Drive.

Parking is available in lots 11, 22, and 33 for a $5 donation.

Rocky Hill Road will be closed to patrons entering the event, as well as both entrances to the Dallas Mall. This will create one point of entry along Stadium Drive.

Hadley and Amherst police will close route 116 from route 9 to the UMass exit from 6 to 10 p.m.

Rain date is Friday, July 5th.
