Ela Gezen, professor of German in the College of Humanities and Fine Arts, recently presented an invited virtual lecture for the TAM Museum, a non-profit institution based in Berlin dedicated to collecting, preserving and showcasing the transcultural narratives that open up the understanding of German-Turkish heritage.

Gezen’s April 27 lecture, based on her current book project and built upon her archival research in Berlin, discussed Turkish visual artists in the 1970s in the context of migration to West Germany. The talk, which was presented in German, was part of the TAM Forum, a platform for exchange between academics, artists and publics, and was presented in cooperation with Berlin’s FHXB Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg Museum.
