Earth Day Waste Sort at UMass Amherst

WHAT:       UMass Amherst Waste Sort Demonstration: An Earth Day Event
WHERE:    Southwest Concourse, Massachusetts and Sunset Avenues,
                  between Prince Hall and Thoreau Hall

The public is invited to an Earth Day waste sort demonstration, designed to raise awareness about the amount of items mistakenly thrown in the trash.

Students and staff will sort through thousands of pounds of trash from all the southwest residence halls to see what could be diverted to recycling or composting.

The Earth Day event is hosted by Residential Life and the Office of Waste Management.
