Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology to Host Presentation on Lyme Disease March 22
The department of biostatistics and epidemiology will host “Lyme disease epidemiology: a coupled natural-human system,” a free presentation by Maria Diuk-Wasser, Friday, March 22 at 12:15 p.m. in Life Sceince Laboratories N210.
Diuk-Wasser is an associate professor in the department of ecology, evolution and environmental biology at Columbia University, and a disease ecologist who focuses on the ecological and epidemiological drivers for the emergence of vector-borne diseases, particularly Lyme disease. She is currently researching the role of pathogen interactions, host community composition, climate and land use change in the epidemics of multiple tick-borne pathogens in the United States.
