David A. Lemery Named UMass AFROTC Commander

Lieutenant Colonel David A. Lemery has been named the University of Massachusetts Amherst Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) Detachment 370 Commander.

Lemery is a distinguished graduate of the AFROTC Detachment at the University of Texas at San Antonio, where he earned a B.S. in mechanical engineering, graduating cum laude. He went on to receive a master of business administration from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

Promoted to Lt. Col. in October of 2014, Lemery has been assigned to bases in Utah, Ohio, Florida, Nevada, Arizona and South Korea. He has earned the Korean Defense Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal with three oak leaf clusters, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with three oak leaf clusters and the Air Force Organizational Excellence Award with two oak leaf clusters.

The UMass AFROTC 4-year program recruits exceptional students and develops them into leaders of character who will guide the Air Force of tomorrow in air, space, and cyberspace.
