Daniel Albert, Music and Dance, Presents at National Conferences
At the Society for Music Teacher Education’s biennial Symposium in September, newly-appointed assistant professor of music education Daniel Albert co-presented a research paper on mentoring networks for music teachers, along with a research poster about re-imagining the admissions process.
The following month, Albert co-presented a research paper titled "Reconceptualizing the Audition for the 21st Century Music Student,” at the College Music Society’s National Conference.
Albert was previously assistant professor of music, human development, and learning at Augsburg University in Minneapolis. He is a graduate of the music department, having earned his bachelor’s degree at UMass Amherst. He went on to earn his master’s degree from the University of Michigan and his Ph.D. in music education from Michigan State University.
Prior to graduate studies, Albert taught classroom general music and instrumental music for 11 years at Glenbrook and Williams Middle Schools in Longmeadow.
