Cross Country Coach Ritchie Places 44th in Boston Marathon
Timothy Ritchie, head men’s cross country coach, placed 44th in the Boston Marathon, on Monday, April 15.
Ritchie completed the 26.22-mile race in 2 hours, 24 minutes, 54 seconds. This was his third time participating in the Boston Marathon and he was one of 82 atheletes selected to be part of the John Hancock elite field.
A hip injury threatened Ritchie’s chances of participating in this year’s race, but he reduced his training mileage in the weeks leading up to the race to heal.
Ritchie was named the head coach of men's cross country program in April 2018. The former standout distance runner for Boston College has experience as a professional runner and distance coach in the New England region.
