CRF Offering Summer Methodologies Program

The Center for Research on Families (CRF) Methodology Program offers a series of workshops and seminars during the summer months. The programming is designed to appeal to a broad audience and attract researchers from across many disciplines.

Introduction to Program Evaluation

Tuesday, June 15, 1:30 - 4:30 p.m.

Instructor: Lindsay Demers

Evaluation is a crucial part of determining whether interventions or programs are effective. However, there are unique considerations around how to design and implement evaluation that are not always present in traditional research. This workshop will introduce the fundamentals program evaluation (e.g. community or school-based interventions), addressing questions including: What is program evaluation? How is program evaluation different from traditional experimental research? How can I make sure my program’s impact is effective for its participants? How do I share results of my evaluation with participants in a way that is meaningful and useful to them?

Participants will come away with a clear sense of the ways evaluation may differ from traditional research methods, best practices for designing and implementing an evaluation and how to increase the likelihood of your evaluation being publishable.

Registration Rates: Students/Post-Docs: $50, Faculty/Professionals: $75
