Coming This Fall: A New SPIRE Experience

Starting this fall, members of the campus community will benefit from an updated interface and experience when using SPIRE, UMass Amherst’s student information system. Students, faculty, and staff will be able to navigate to key SPIRE functions more easily using a new tile-based homepage and useful features like search.

Find Your Way Around SPIRE

Navigate the new SPIRE interface using:  

• Homepage tiles for commonly used tasks

• Search

• Complete menu navigation (including items that may not appear on the homepage)

The new SPIRE experience responds to the needs of the campus community and is included in the university’s roadmap to optimize the delivery of administrative and information technology services. This roadmap prioritizes accessibility and usability, and ensures the most positive and productive digital experience.

Prepare for a New SPIRE Login Experience

Planned future SPIRE improvements include updates to the login experience, to make it similar to other university services, such as email, Zoom, or learning management systems. Be sure to install the Microsoft Authenticator app for the most secure login method.
