Leo Hwang, associate dean for inclusive excellence for the College of Natural Sciences, has been named to the board of directors of Mass Humanities.

Hwang is one of seven “exceptional community leaders” who will bring perspectives from higher education, library science, multimedia art, public policy and Indigenous activism, among other areas, to the Northampton-based non-profit as new board members.

Mass Humanities’ goal is to create opportunities for the people of Massachusetts to transform their lives and build a more equitable commonwealth through the humanities. Hwang and the others joined the organization’s board at its September meeting and will serve three-year terms, renewable for one term.
