Changes Coming to Bus Schedule During Winter Break
Starting Friday, Dec. 17, Pioneer Valley Transport Authority (PVTA) buses that service campus will be operating on a reduced schedule. The reduced schedule will continue through Monday, Jan. 24.
PVTA routes 30, 31, 45 and 46 will operate on reduced service schedules and routes 33 and 36 will run regular schedules with the following exceptions:
- Service will end on all routes early (at approximately 6 p.m.) on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.
- There will be no service on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
Full service schedules, similar to the Fall 2021 schedules, will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 25, when spring semester starts at UMass Amherst.
PVTA routes 34 and 35 will have no service during winter break. On Friday, Dec. 17, only PVTA route 38 will run two trips between Mount Holyoke College and UMass to accommodate the last final exam at Amherst College, departing Mount Holyoke at 8:20 a.m. This bus will depart UMass at 12:05 p.m. to transport students back to Mount Holyoke College after the final. There will be no service on Route 38 for the remainder of the winter session, with full service on Route 38 returning on Monday, Jan. 24.
PVTA Route B43 will run “No School Service” from Sunday, Dec. 19, through Saturday, Jan. 22, with the following exceptions:
- No service on Christmas Day.
- No School Sunday service will run on New Year’s Day.
- Full service will resume on PVTA Route B43 on Sunday, Jan. 23.
