AMHERST, Mass – UMass Amherst will unveil the new physical location of its expanded University Without Walls (UWW) program at a ribbon-cutting ceremony. UWW is creating a multi-modal learning experience that supports the needs of students at every stage in their educational and professional lives. Courses will be offered in a number of modes, including face-to-face, online and hybrid.
Fennick McCredie Architecture of Boston, led by project architect Katherine Brekka, designed the new, open space that includes exterior windows all around and skylights. The site is the former location of the university’s Textbook Annex.
By leveraging the best teaching, learning and technological developments now available, UMass Amherst will offer life-long learners the ongoing academic excellence they seek. By bringing together a number of modalities, the UWW program provides the infrastructure to offer all students lifelong access to the UMass Amherst experience. The expansion builds on UWW’s rich, 47-year history of providing non-traditional students with a high-quality experience.
