The Center for Research on Families to Host Lecture on Trauma-Focused Therapy
The Center for Research on Families (CRF) is presenting a talk, “Get Better Faster: Intensive Trauma Focused Psychotherapy,” by Ricky Greenwald, on Thursday, Nov. 14 at 4 p.m. in the Life Science Lab, room S330.
The lecture will explore the rationale, methods and research in the emerging practice of trauma-focused therapy.
Greenwald is the founder and executive director of the Trauma Institute & Child Trauma Institute, affiliate professor at the SUNY University at Buffalo School of Social Work and a fellow of the American Psychological Association. Greenwald is the author of numerous professional articles as well as several books, including “EMDR in Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy,” “Child Trauma Handbook,” “Treating Problem Behaviors” and “Progressive Counting.”
This lecture is part of the Tay Gavin Lecture Series. The Tay Gavin Erickson Lecture Series, which began in 1999 through an endowment established in memory of Tay Gavin Erickson, brings multiple speakers with expertise in family research to campus each year.
