Brian Cheng Appointed to Sixth National Climate Change Assessment

Brian Cheng, assistant professor in the Department of Environmental Conservation, has been appointed as an author in the Sixth National Climate Assessment (NCA6). Cheng joins fellow professor in the department Ezra Markowitz and other leading experts from the field of climate change science to author a chapter of the new report focusing on the Northeast Region of the United States. Cheng will provide his expertise on the ecology of coastal and marine ecosystems.
The National Climate Assessment is the U.S. government’s preeminent report on climate change impacts, risks, and responses. It is a congressionally mandated effort that provides the foundation to support informed decision making in the U.S. The report will be developed over the next three years and is scheduled to be released in late 2027.
