The Best of Two Worlds: Balancing Synchronous and Asynchronous Learning

The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) will be hosting a forum on the range of possibilities and contextual merits for synchronous and asynchronous instruction on Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 11:30 a.m. on Zoom.  

In this faculty forum, CTL staff will explain the range of possibilities and contextual merits for synchronous and asynchronous instruction, and faculty will share how they are balancing synchronous and asynchronous instruction across the disciplines. Participants will leave with a greater sense of what’s possible and some specific examples for how they can enhance student learning and engagement during this time of remote instruction.  

Session Goals

  • Exchange/share teaching strategies for both synchronous and asynchronous learning  
  • Acquire new teaching strategies that can be implemented in the second half of the semester  
  • Build community around teaching
