Battle-Baptiste Appointed to Mass Humanities Board of Directors

Whitney Battle-Baptiste, anthropology and director of the W.E.B. Du Bois Center, was recently appointed by Gov. Charlie Baker to serve on the board of directors of Mass Humanities.

She will be sworn in at the State House in Boston on Monday, March 26.

Mass Humanities is an independent programming and grant-making organization that conducts and supports programs that use history, literature, philosophy and the other humanities disciplines to enhance and improve civic life in Massachusetts.

Established in 1974 as the Massachusetts Foundation for Humanities and Public Policy,

Mass Humanities receives support from the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Massachusetts Cultural Council as well as private sources.
