Barbara Zecchi Serves as Keynote at Three International Conferences This Fall

Barbara Zecchi, director and professor of film studies and professor in Spanish and Portuguese studies at UMass Amherst, is keynote speaker at three international conferences this semester in the U.S., Spain and the Dominican Republic.

At the First International Conference on Hispanic Women Filmmakers (CIMCiH) at Clark University (Oct. 8-9) she presented three of her latest video-essays on soft focus and presbyopia.

At the Conference "Cinefilias en Femenino" organized by the University of València, Spain (Oct. 28-29), she talked about the intersection between age/ing studies and affect theory.

Finally, at the 30th Conference of the Association of Gender and Sexualities Studies (AEGS/AGSS) in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic (Nov. 17-19), her keynote speech will address the representation of older women in Iberian and Latin American cinemas.
