Robert Bagg, professor emeritus of English, has published translations of Greek dramas in “Four By Euripides: Medea, Bakkhai, Hippolytos, and Cyclops,” through the University of Massachusetts Press. His earlier translations of the plays of Sophocles and Euripides have been performed over seventy times, across a wide array of stages. This edition includes accessible new translations of  the four plays by Euripides, all rendered in iambic pentameter, a meter well suited for the stage.

Bagg is the author of six books of poetry, including “Madonna of the Cello,” a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award. His work has been supported by Guggenheim, Rockefeller and other fellowships.
