Architecture Faculty Present Papers at the EAAE-ARCC International Research Conference
Department of architecture faculty were well represented at this year’s 2020 EAAE-ARCC International Conference and 2nd Valencia International Biennial of Research in Architecture at the Polytechnic University in Valencia, Spain (and remotely) from Nov. 11 through 14. The focus of the conference is on “Architecture + the City” with panels addressing new professional and research practices.
Several faculty presented papers on their research:
- Professor Ray Mann presented “Seeing beyond cities,” an assessment of methods used to calculate greenhouse gas (GHG) consumption in urban, suburban and exurban settings, a subset of her book research on rethinking domestic life in the age of Climate Change and its implications for design.
- Associate Professor Carey Clouse presented “Considering Ladakhi self-sufficiency under climate change, COVID-19, and beyond.”
- Associate Professor Caryn Brause presented an interdisciplinary methods paper titled “Transferring visual methods from design to social science to advance built environment research.”
