2021-22 Gerald F. Scanlon Student Employee of the Year Award Recipients Announced

Ten UMass Amherst student employees have been recognized for their outstanding contributions to the university as Gerald F. Scanlon Student Employee of the Year Award winners. An in-person award celebration honoring the winners will be held in the afternoon of Tuesday, May 3 in Old Chapel. 

The Gerald F. Scanlon Student Employee of the Year Award was instituted in the 1987-88 academic year. The intent of the award is to recognize and honor students who have demonstrated outstanding performance by contributing their time and/or skill to help the university achieve its goals and objectives. The Scanlon Award Committee selected these ten student workers from a strong list of on- and off-campus nominations.  

The 2021-22 Gerald F. Scanlon Student Employee of the Year Award Recipients are:

  • Philip Baird, enrollment management, communications and events
  • Elise Boehm, Amherst Survival Center
  • John Dacey, student engagement and leadership
  • Ajay Dawani, resource economics, College of Social and Behavioral Sciences
  • Taylor Martin-Graham, Student Affairs and Campus Life, Finance
  • Olivia Lynch, accounting, Isenberg School of Management
  • Tegan Oliver, UMass Women into Leadership
  • Jah'inaya Hunique Parker, Center for Women and Community
  • Ana Prados-Bacó, campus recreation department
  • William Wright, undergraduate student success
