Public Health Promotion Center gets shots in arms, tests thousands

The Public Health Promotion Center (PHPC) at UMass Amherst has provided an invaluable service, offering COVID-19 testing and vaccines to thousands of students, staff, faculty, and community members. In October 2021, PHPC co-directors Ann Becker and Jeff Hescock received the Chancellor's Medal for their incredible work and dedication to making the center one of the most successful hubs in the state for COVID-19 resources. “For more than 18 months, seven days a week, 24 hours a day, Ann and Jeff have shouldered an unrelenting amount of responsibility,” Chancellor Subbaswamy said. “They have done so with grace, humility, and humor.” Learn More.
