Director of Water Quality at Aquarion Water Company

Yesher Larsen is Director of Water Quality at Aquarion Water Company, which is a public water supply company in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire. His responsibilities include drinking water quality and compliance across Aquarion’s more than 80 water systems. His team of nineteen professionals include laboratory staff that operate a state-certified laboratory for drinking water analyses, as well as compliance specialists and field personnel. The efforts of this team ensure the provision of safe, high-quality water to more than 750,000 people in 72 towns.   

Yesher is actively involved within the drinking water industry. He is currently engaged in the State of Connecticut’s Prevention and Mitigation of Legionella Working Group, for which he was appointed in 2022. He is also involved at the national level in the American Water Works Association and at the state level is Chair of the Regulations and Research Committee within the Connecticut Section of the American Water Works Association. In 2019 he successfully completed the Water Environment Federation Water Leadership Institute, which is a competitive global program for emerging leaders to develop the skills necessary to lead change within their organization.   

Yesher joined Aquarion in 2015 as Process Engineer. In this role he focused on optimizing treatment processes, leading and supporting treatment improvement projects, and evaluating technologies to address water quality challenges. In 2018 he was promoted to Manager of Technical Services, an operations role in which he was responsible for drinking water treatment and industrial communications. Prior to working at Aquarion, Yesher worked for an engineering consulting firm in Massachusetts.   

Yesher is a licensed Professional Engineer in Massachusetts and a drinking water system operator with Class IV Treatment licensure in Connecticut. In 2021 he earned an MBA from Sacred Heart University. Yesher holds an MS in Environmental Engineering and a BS in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
