Todd Brown '24

Hi, I’m Todd! I'm from Hanover, MA and I am a senior studying Civil Engineering.

Over the summer I had the opportunity to work as a bridge inspection engineering intern for MassDOT. It was a great experience for my second internship where I got to learn a lot and work with fellow engineers. During my time at MassDOT, the other interns and I worked on a structure identification project. Our goal was identifying and inventorying structures across district 5 that were not in the MassDOT database. This type of work was interesting as I got to see different types of structures across different parts of the state. I learned how to assess and inventory the structures in the field and what actions to take after. I enjoyed the mix of working both indoors and outdoors as most days I was in the field and other days I was doing office work. Lastly, it was interesting to work for a bigger company like MassDOT and to see the differences between them and the smaller company I interned with last year. 

Outside of engineering, I enjoy playing sports (hockey and basketball), playing video games, and traveling.
