Brian Mullen is an entrepreneur and innovation leader in digital health. He is currently Head of Innovation and Product at The Clinic by Cleveland Clinic focused on unlocking access to healthcare using digital innovation.
Brian started his innovation journey at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where he co-founded Therapeutic Systems based on his graduate research. Therapeutic Systems was a medical device company focused on designing technology for people with mental illness and cognitive disabilities. Therapeutic Systems was a past winner of the UMass Innovation Challenge, Gold Prize winner of MassChallenge, and VentureWell fund/grantee. Brian worked for Mass General Hospital's Innovation team, where he helped translate ideas into products. While at MGH, Brian also worked with large companies and startups to bring innovation into the hospital.
Brian has taught product and innovation at MassArt's Master's in Design Innovation program and was the past president of the board for the Institute for Human Centered Design. Brian is passionate about helping underserved communities gain access to innovation to improve their lives, and he co-developed the Inclusive Design in Healthcare class offered at UMass in the Fall.
