24 Years of Experience: The UMass Amherst School of Public Health & Health Sciences is a leader in online graduate education. Since launching our first online graduate program in 2001, we have developed a strong expertise in delivering high-quality, asynchronous degree and certificate programs.
Designed for Working Professionals: Our programs are tailored to fit seamlessly into the busy schedules of public health and healthcare professionals. You will engage in both theoretical and practical learning modules designed to build the skills necessary for advancing your career.
MPH in PHP course requirements:
- Six public health core courses (18 credits) ranging from biostatistics to public health leadership
- Three research-based courses, including research methods, a practicum, and a final capstone project that gives you the framework to delve into a current issue of your choice (9 credits)
- Five electives from your choice of over 40 biostatistics, epidemiology, environmental health sciences or nutrition courses (15 credits)

Application information & deadlines
Applications are considered twice a year. Admission deadline for fall is June 15, and for spring, Nov. 15th. Students apply to the SOPHAS application system.
