UMass Athletics posted an all-time best 995 Academic Progress Rate (APR) across all programs for 2024-25, according to data recently released by the NCAA.
Fourteen UMass programs posted perfect scores of 1,000 in 2024-25 – baseball, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, men’s cross country, women’s cross country, field hockey, men’s lacrosse, women’s soccer, softball, men’s swimming and diving, women’s swimming and diving, tennis, men’s track and field and women’s track and field.
Massachusetts Athletics’ multi-year APR mark also moved up to 991 in the latest set of data.
Implemented in 2003 as part of an academic reform effort across Division I, the APR holds institutions accountable for the academic progress of their student-athletes through a team-based metric that accounts for the eligibility and retention of each student-athlete for each academic term.
