Minor in Catalan Studies
A rare opportunity to study Catalan in a university setting.
The Catalan studies minor at UMass Amherst is the only program of its kind at a public university in the United States. Catalan Studies is not only about learning the language, but about immersing yourself in the culture of the Catalan-speaking world: its media, art, music, cinema, literature, theatre, food, politics, and society.
To complete the minor, you’ll take an intensive language course in Catalan and another course in Catalan culture. Then you’ll choose two elective courses from an exciting range of options. These include classes about everything from advanced language to literature and cinema.
The Catalan minor at UMass is a special and unique program that will expand your understanding of the world.
