"We are thrilled to see so many of our UMass Amherst students and alumni be honored as Fulbright scholars," says ONSA Director Madalina Akli.
Adak, who just completed an individual concentration in biology, served as an undergraduate intern on the Holyoke Early Access to Recovery and Treatment (HEART) program led by Professor Elizabeth Evans. She's been awarded a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship to South Korea.
Nguyen earned bachelor's degrees in Communication Disorders (now Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences), Spanish and linguistics in 2021. She received a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship to Vietnam.
Recipients of Fulbright awards are selected on the basis of academic and professional achievement as well as a record of service and leadership potential in their respective fields. The Fulbright U.S. Student Program is administered at UMass Amherst through ONSA.
