University Community Invited to ‘Reconnecting with Our Communities: Exploring New Visions for the UMass Amherst Center at Springfield’

UMass Amherst faculty, students and staff are invited to join a gathering of Springfield region community partners and organizers for ‘Reconnecting with Our Communities: Exploring New Visions for the UMass Amherst Center at Springfield,’ Friday, April 5, from 9:30 a.m. to noon at the UMass Amherst Center at Springfield.

The event, which aims to build cohesion and imagine a transformative vision for the UMass Amherst Center, will start with breakfast followed by a welcome from Lidya Rivera-Early, the new executive director of government relations and Springfield partnerships at UMass Amherst. The event will feature panel presentations and facilitated discussions on how UMass Amherst can best support community organizers, reciprocal community-engaged research, creative practice and innovative community-based teaching in the Springfield region.

Those interested in attending the event are asked to register using this form by Monday, April 1.

The event is sponsored by the UMass Amherst Center at Springfield, the UMass Amherst Faculty Senate Public Engagement and Outreach Council, UMass Amherst Civic Engagement and Service-Learning and the UMass Environmental and Social Action Movement.
