Moody-Love Named ROTC Professor of Military Science

Lt. Col. LaTasha Moody-Love has been named the University of Massachusetts Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) professor of military science.

Moody-Love is a distinguished graduate of Northwestern State University Army ROTC in Natchitoches, Louisiana where she earned her A.A.S. in veterinary technology and later a B.A. in anthropology with a minor in microbiology. She went on to receive a master of science in international relations from Troy University.

Prior to receiving her commission as an active duty second lieutenant in the Army, Moody-Love enlisted in the Army serving as a combat medic with the 1/228^th Aviation Regiment in Panama. She later transitioned into the Simultaneous Membership Program (SMP) with the Louisiana National Guard.

Moody-Love served the majority of her military career in the Indo Pacific Command (INDOPACOM) region – Hawaii, Okinawa, Joint Base Lewis McChord and South Korea providing logistics support to light Infantry units to include a Stryker Brigade Combat Team (SBCT). She has served at all levels – strategic, operational and tactical. Her areas of expertise include Asia-Pacific, international relations, military planning, cultural awareness, leadership and mentoring.

Moody-Love hails from a military family. Her father retired from the U.S. Army and is a Vietnam War veteran. She is married to Cedric Love, who served on the USS Duluth (LPD-6) with the U.S. Navy and her godson is currently serving in the Navy.
