D.K. Mccutchen to Celebrate Launch of Newest Novel, “Jellyfish Dreaming,” At Odyssey Books on Aug. 22

Deborah McCutchen, senior lecturer II in the College of Natural Science at UMass Amherst and co-associate director of the Junior Year Writing Program, will launch her latest novel, “Jellyfish Dreaming,” at Odyssey Books in South Hadley on August 22 at 7 p.m.
“Jellyfish Dreaming” is a LGBTQIA friendly, post-apocalyptic, gender-bending coming-of-age story that contemplates the tenacity of life and the capacity of hope, and has been awarded a Leapfrog Press Global Fiction Prize.
McCutchen is also re-releasing her first book, “Whale Road,” (Jackleg Press) a creative nonfiction account of a journey on a research vessel that follows an old whalers’ hunting ground through the South Pacific. McCutchen will be reading from “Whale Road” at 7 p.m. on Oct. 17 at Broadside Books in Northampton.
