In the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at UMass Amherst, you’ll have the flexibility to design a course of study that meets your specific interests, while developing mathematical expertise that will serve you in careers in actuarial work, statistical analysis, computer programming, data analysis, industry, government, or secondary school teaching.
Your studies will also prepare you for graduate study in mathematics, statistics, computer science, and other fields or professional programs in business, law, medicine, and education.
During your studies, you’ll work alongside some of the field’s brightest minds on research in a wide range of areas, from data analysis to probability to geometry and topology.
