Arboriculture
Care for the earth as a “tree physician” and prepare for a wide range of careers in tree care and urban forestry.
Be an environmental steward, fighting global climate change by sustainably caring for trees. Students in the two-year arboriculture and community forest management program enjoy being outdoors, working with their hands while using their minds, and protecting our environment.
Benefit from our focus on hands-on learning. Learn how to plant, fertilize, diagnose, and prune; remediate disease and pests; assess tree risk; climb safely; install tree support systems; and remove trees as a team.
Arboriculture and community forest management is an applied program in the Stockbridge School of Agriculture that includes a five-month internship experience and results in a two-year associate degree. Our curriculum prepares students to take arborist certification exams. This program offers excellent career opportunities in a growing field.
