SPHHS Students Named 2025 Alumni Association Scholarship Recipients

The UMass Amherst Alumni Association has announced the recipients of its 2025 scholarships and awards. This year's winners include 7 SPHHS students from all 4 undergraduate majors, and include recipients of the Senior Leadership Award, the William F. Field Alumni Scholar Award, and the Greater Boston Alumni Network Scholarship.
Senior Leadership Award
- Sumayah Mohamed | Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences
The Senior Leadership Award recognizes graduating seniors who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and service to the UMass Amherst community. Award recipients have distinguished themselves through important contributions to student organizations, campus jobs, academic excellence, and community service.
William F. Field Alumni Scholar Award

- Marcus Martinez | Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences
- Isabel Serrano | Public Health Sciences
- Mia Vittimberga | Public Health Sciences
The William F. Field Alumni Scholar Awards were established in 1976 to recognize and honor third-year students for their academic achievements at UMass Amherst. The program was named in honor of William F. Field, the university’s first Dean of Students, for his outstanding support of academic excellence and his personal commitment to bringing out the best in every student.
Greater Boston Alumni Network Scholarship
- Zoya Achildiyev | Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences
The UMass Amherst Greater Boston Alumni Network Scholarship was established by the Greater Boston Alumni Network to assist with the educational pursuits of students from Boston high schools. Recipients demonstrate diverse records of achievement in academics, leadership, and are student role models.
Each year, the UMass Amherst Foundation and Alumni Association presents more than 100 scholarships and awards totaling over $100,000 to UMass Amherst students.
