Participants Needed for Hearing Research Study
Content
The Healthy Hearing Lab Group in the Department of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences is seeking adults age 40 years and older for a hearing study of how aging affects speech understanding in noisy backgrounds.
The lab is looking for participants who do not have any concerns regarding their memory and cognition, as well as individuals who have a medical diagnosis of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) or dementia.
The study will take place in participants’ own residences, where they will temporarily receive an iPad and headphones to test their hearing and complete listening and memory tests. They will then take part in a phone or videoconference appointment with someone from the research team. It will take approximately two hours to complete the study and participants will be paid $40.
For more information about the study and to determine eligibility for participation, please call 413-545-0565 or email healthy-hearing [at] umass [dot] edu (healthy-hearing[at]umass[dot]edu).
