Participants needed for a hearing research study at UMass Amherst. Adults 40 years and older are needed for a hearing study of how aging affects speech understanding in noisy backgrounds.

Researchers are looking for participants who do not have any concerns regarding their memory and cognition as well as individuals who have a medical diagnosis of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) or dementia. The study will take place in the participants' own residences.

Participants will use an iPad device and headphones to test their hearing and complete listening and memory tests. The equipment will be delivered to the participants and they will have a phone or videoconference appointment with someone from the research team.

It will take approximately two hours to complete the study.  Participants will be paid $20. Please contact us at 413-545-0565 or healthy-hearing [at] umass [dot] edu (healthy-hearing[at]umass[dot]edu) for more information about the study and learn more about eligibility for participation.
