The full suite of OCP services is open to graduate students as they plan for the next steps after earning their SPHHS advanced degrees. Whether you are an MPH, M.S., or Ph.D. candidate, the OCP team is here to assist you.
We recognize that graduate students are usually at different points in their career than our undergraduate population, and therefore, we make a concerted effort to guide our advanced degree students through this distinct process and range of available opportunities.

The Office of Professional Development (OPD) positions graduate students and postdoctoral researchers to achieve success at UMass and beyond. OPD recognizes the importance of both technical and academic expertise, offering professional skills training in career preparation, communication, grants and fellowships, personal development, and teaching. The programs include virtual and in-person workshops (400+ each year), daylong conferences, weeklong writing retreats, and experiential learning opportunities.

This website is informed by nearly a decade of experience supporting graduate students to launch careers where they are paid for their education and training.
