Graduate Admissions Online & Professional Certificate Programs

Learn about admissions to the online certificate programs.

Online Graduate certificate admissions:

Minimum admissions requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with a 2.8 to 3.0 GPA

Eligibility:

  • Current graduate students in the school, including MPH-PHP students
  • Non-matriculated working public health, nutrition, or health care professionals who have an interest in global health or a career goal in international health
  • Students interested in eventually pursuing the MPH or PhD in public health

Application:

  • We accept applications on a rolling basis
  • Students can start the program in spring, summer, or fall semesters
  • Complete the online application found here and submit it

Prospective students need to submit the following:

  • Free application
  • CV/résumé
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Official transcripts from all institutions attended or a certified copy of your foreign-evaluated and translated transcripts
  • TOEFL if necessary

Testing information:

The GRE is not required for any degree and certificate programs in SPHHS or the MPH in Worcester program.

The TOEFL may be required for those who did not earn their degree in the U.S. However, it is waived in one of the following circumstances:

  • You are a U.S. citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident
  • You earned a degree from a U.S. institution or have completed at least two years of coursework toward a degree in the U.S.
  • Students from certain countries or who attend certain institutions internationally may also be exempt; contact the department for more information
