UMass Amherst’s BS in speech, language, and hearing sciences provides a comprehensive foundation in normal processes of speech, language, and hearing, as well as an introduction to characteristics of disorders in speech, language, and hearing. It also prepares you for graduate study in clinical speech language pathology or audiology.
 
You will have the opportunity to:

  • Complete 25 hours of clinical observations
  • Do internship or volunteer work with children, elderly, or disabled persons
  • Work in research laboratories
  • Complete requirements to earn a license as an SLP assistant or AuD assistant in Massachusetts
