B.S. Kinesiology with an Exercise Physiology Concentration

A focus on using physical activity as a therapeutic tool to enhance overall health and independence

Interested in a deeper study of how the human body’s systems (cardiovascular, muscular, metabolic, respiratory) respond, adapt, and function under physical stress, both acutely and chronically? Adding an Exercise Physiology Concentration in Kinesiology may just be the thing for you!

An undergraduate concentration at UMass Amherst is a specialized area of study within a major, allowing students to tailor their degree toward specific career or academic interests.

The Department hope is that students adding the Exercise Physiology Concentration in KIN will be well equipped to sit for their Certification in Exercise Physiology, through organizations like the ACSM, and prepare for a career in the clinical application of Exercise Physiology, at places like Dana-Farber.
