Admissions for 4+1 MS in Environmental Health Sciences
Admissions to 4+1 BS/MS in environmental health sciences.
The department offers an accelerated master of science (MS) degree program, providing an opportunity for students who graduate with a bachelor of science (BS) degree in public health sciences in the School of Public Health and Health Sciences, to complete the MS degree in one academic year plus an intervening summer. Students, in consultation with their advisor, start the environmental health sciences program at the beginning of their junior or senior undergraduate year.
MS students must complete:
- Three public health core courses
- Four core environmental health sciences courses
- Electives (nine to 18 credits in total)
- A thesis (nine credits)
The accelerated MS degree is typically completed in four semesters (two of which are taken in the senior undergraduate year, concurrently with other undergraduate courses) plus the intervening summer. A minimum of 42 credits is required.
To apply, students are required to submit a completed Accelerated Master’s Degree Program in Environmental Health Sciences application, unofficial transcript, and two letters of recommendation.
Letters of recommendation should come from faculty or an internship/work supervisor.
