Damien J. Leach

Damien is a PhD student at UMass Amherst’s School of Public Health and Health Sciences, where he studies Community Health Education in the Department of Health Policy and Promotion. His research focuses on using culturally sustaining, arts-based approaches to engage youth in addressing the inequities that impact their communities. He is passionate about youth participatory action research, fostering intergenerational connections, bridging institutional resources with community initiatives, mentoring young people, and promoting health equity through Hip Hop.
