Greenhouses

CNS greenhouses support faculty and student research, house historical and rare New England plants, and offer the public an opportunity to admire unusual plants in a beautiful conservatory setting.

CNS Research and Education Greenhouse

The Research and Education Greenhouse consists of a Silver-rated LEED facility, built in 2011, and includes 12 separate rooms in two wings that serves as both greenhouse and laboratory. The facility also includes a renovated greenhouse with four rooms of upgraded teaching and research facilities.

Morrill Greenhouses

The six Morrill Greenhouses are primarily devoted to teaching and house a collection of over 680 genera comprising more than 225 families. This facility is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, and visitors are always welcome.

Durfee Conservatory

The Durfee Conservatory is the university’s oldest greenhouse facility, opened in 1867. It is open to visitors from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
