Former CNS Postdoc Research Associate is Profiled in 'Wall Street Journal' for Her Work on Bedbugs in South Korea

Kim Ju-hyeon, a former postdoc research associate in the Department of Veterinary and Animal Sciences's Clark Lab, was recently profiled in The Wall Street Journal for her study on the insecticide resistance of bedbugs in South Korea.
Referred to as “a national hero” by some and the “Bedbug Princess” by others, Kim is “a noted bedbug killer in the middle of what South Korea fears is the worst infestation in decades.” A 2020 peer-reviewed article authored by Kim highlighted bedbugs’ troubling resistance to pyrethroid-based insecticides, and later identified alternatives that function better.
